About
"Searing Stars" was inspired by the awe of my first solo snorkeling adventure in the kelp forest near Santa Cruz Island. I watched the light dance across the swaying kelp blades, and in that moment, the shimmering surface sparked tiny galaxies of light, connecting the sea to the stars above. Painting this scene months later, I could still feel the ocean's motion-like a sailor fresh off a boat. This painting celebrates the interplay of light and shadow, honoring the cosmic beauty and interconnected magic that surrounds us, even in the darkest depths.
