Part of the Prism series, this painting is inspired by a transformative diving trip—a moment of stepping off the edge and entering an underwater world bathed in sunlight. Still getting used to my oversized fins and surrounded by fellow divers, I felt my fears hovering at the surface. But it wasn’t until I took that literal leap off the back of the boat, anchored near the San Diego coast, that I discovered the light waiting beneath the waves.
