About
The original oil painting is part of a larger 'Elephant' series. ''Elle’ is the matriarch; the oldest female of the family. Wisdom passed down from generations before her is her guide as she leads the herd. Her critical role provides answers and stability. As I painted her I became emotional, thinking of all the hardships she had seen, mourning relatives lost and a solemn vow to protect.
