Meet the Artist
Marie McKenzie is an oil painter and sculptor based in Ojai, CA, whose artworks are inspired by the coast. Discovering kelp's vital significance and decline in 2021 shifted her focus from seascapes to underwater visions, ultimately leading her to confront her fears of the ocean through freediving.
This transformative journey inspired her recent paintings. By illuminating the beauty of kelp forests, she strives to foster connection and contribute to their restoration through her partnership with SeaTrees.
